The Project conducted an independent sociological survey to determine the level of awareness of biodiversity values and willingness to change behavior. The survey encompassed Bistrinsky district which was chosen due to the fact that it hosts Bistrinsky nature park and over 3,000 people permanently residing in the same area. The survey demonstrates that the Project implementation has positively affected ecological education and biodiversity awareness.
During the survey, some of the questions that were asked to 150 respondents and 24 professionals were as follows:
- do you consider that biodiversity conservation issues are very important? (72% are expressly positive)
- do you think that you can benefit from biodiversity conservation? (66% are expressly positive)
- Are you ready to participate in biodiversity conservation activities? (55.3% are expressly positive)
- do you evaluate the current measures on biodiversity conservation as efficient? (10.7% are expressly positive)
